Ruth Bader Ginsberg, celebrity fetishism and a tragic miscalculation: who can honor such a dangerous fool?

I was suddenly jolted out of the RBG news flood by reading (what I must have known but forgot) that Obama cautioned RBG to retire early so that a younger liberal could be appointed to the court.
She refused to take this advice and one has to wonder why. I can’t see any judgement save celebrity narcissism. The entire american system could go askew and the harm inflicted on untold individualism doesn’t argue for anything resembling greatness.
