Working class, universal class…

The passing of working class radicalism belies the often illusory focus on class: we have suggested a step backwards to the idea of the universal class as a way to see the larger reality of the ‘working class’ and the confused assumptions about class and historical dynamics. We have a large number of discussions of this here… The left is about people who are committed to radical change. Trying to manipulate abstractions of class rarely succeeds because people aren’t abstractions. That said, the left is more often right than wrong in their (mis)calculations about class dynamics.
