How to Defeat an Army

Non-violent revolutionaries speaking the language of poetry can win. It is estimated that it only takes 3.5% of a population to bring down the most repressive totalitarian state. And make no mistake, we live in a repressive Corporate-Totalitarian State which imprisons truth-tellers and kills widely and indiscriminately across the globe. Are there 11 million among us in these here United States willing to speak and hear the honest language of poetry?

Ukraine May Secure a Victory Against Russia in Name, But the World won’t Escape the War’s Aftermath

Seldom in European history has an invading power so exaggerated its own strength, and underestimated that of its enemy to the degree that Russia did when it attacked Ukraine on 24 February. Ten months after President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian army to conquer Ukraine, the tragic absurdity of his giant blunder remains staggering.

Playing into Putin’s hands…//1,000+ US Faith Leaders Call for ‘Christmas Truce’ and Ceasefire in Ukraine

How is it these faith leaders think a truce now for Christmas, after the misleading model of the first world war (which resolved nothing), could do anything but help Putin who desperately wants a stay in the fighting to reorganize his failed idiocy in Ukraine. Pious quotes from Isaiah are tasteless religious funk at this point. This risks getting a lot of Ukrainians killed. …
Cf. from CNN:

Paris CNN — A truce now in the war in Ukraine would essentially spell victory for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Nine months in, Russian hopes of a swift seizure have been well and truly dashed, its army largely on the defensive across more than 600 miles of battle lines strung along the eastern and southern reaches of Ukraine. Indeed a truce or negotiations may be the only path to victory possible at this moment for the Russian leader; his manpower exhausted and weapons supplies dwindling. At the same time, there is a flagging will of the West that could prove equally toxic for Ukraine – and that Putin is almost certainly counting on.“The only thing a premature truce does is it allows both parties to re-arm,” Michael Kofman, director of Russian studies at the CNA think tank and a leading expert on the Russian military, told me in an interview.

The issue has to be decided by Zelensky the Ukrainians themselves

“In the spirit of the truce that occurred in 1914 during the First World War, we urge our government to take a leadership role in bringing the war in Ukraine to an end.”

Ukraine’s Battle of the Somme: Cold, Mud, Dirt and Blood

As Russia’s brutal, little-heeded war against Ukraine lurches on, grim images have emerged on social media of Ukrainian soldiers caught in the bloody quagmire around Bakhmut, an eastern city that has devolved into a ravaged landscape of ghostly trees, artillery craters, besieged elderly civilians and on-edge forces hunched under endless barrages in a muddy, freezing, deadlocked trench warfare that some have called “the new Passchendaele.” Over 100 years ago, H.G. Wells trumpeted “the war that will end war.” “We are resolved,” he said. “That foolery shall end! It is the last war.” Alas, not.
