The article is right about ‘decline’: the situation using the eonic model resembles more that of Greece/Athens around 400 BCE as its influence and power contracted. But of course, this led to a new expansion as the Hellenistic age of a new Greek oikoumene, which eventually was replaced by the Roman. New powers are emerging globally, viz. China, and this is to be expected even though the values of the modern transition are so poorly translated by the Marxist super-dogma in practice.

The West Wants to Engage Russia and China on the Climate Crisis While Also Demonising Them – It Won’t Work –

As Britain prepares to host the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow next month, it is pursuing two contradictory policies that undermine its chances of success. On the one hand, it is seeking a unified global response to the climate crisis with nations agreeing to targets for the reduction of their coal and petroleum emissions. But at the same time, it has joined the US in escalating a new cold war directed at confronting China and Russia at every turn.

 The need for the eonic model

Many of the points in this essay are well taken but I would recommend that all parties move beyond using the term ‘western civilization’: in the eonic model the term has no real status and what we look at is the relationship of regions to one whole. There we see the relatively late advance in the ‘west’ of eurasia in relation to a frontier effect. Many in the ‘west’ fail to see that the weest so-called is simply a frontier zone with an eonic transition whose effect is to generate a global oikoumene….
