The US legacy if finished: how to start over?

The idea that the US could spend twenty years and a trillion dollars in Afghanistan, achieve nothing, and then walk away without being held accountable is the signature of death for the whole legacy of its once great experiment. The problem lurks: no revolution is possible: the monster is immortal and the catacomb for centuries more of psycopaths. Really? Something has to give way at some point. The scale of the failure is stupefying, but it could in principle be repaired, in practice…?
The core problem is capitalism, but behind that lies the disease of Machiavellianism, which has taken over human politics, vitiating its hopes for a new kind of society. To utter such a heresy makes the entire political corp of super asssholes cringe at the mere thought their little game beyond good and evil is somehow problematical and might be taken was from them. No chance of that, but… It may well be beyond reform. Born again political virtue is unlikely as species failure goes on and on as in Rome, until the whole monstrosity collapsed. Nietsche has triumphed over Kant, and American Karma now suffers the Bid Lie, and Trump, Avatar of Asssholes, seeds what the politicians all secretly want, fascism.

The fall of Kabul to the Taliban on 15 August 2021 is a major political and ideological defeat for the American Empire. The crowded helicopters carrying US Embassy staff to Kabul airport were startlingly reminiscent of the scenes in Saigon – now Ho Chi Minh City – in April 1975. The speed with which Taliban forces stormed the country was astonishing; their strategic acumen remarkable. A week-long offensive ended triumphantly in Kabul. The 300,000-strong Afghan army crumbled. Many refused to fight.
