Darwin Day fading away…

We don’t need religion to challenge darwinism, and the celebration of Darwin Day seems almost a forgotten ritual. The challenge to darwinism has slowly but surely suffered the fate assigned to its decades ago by Fred Hoyle, a statistical fantasy of science.
Instead we might reconsider the larger context of evolution and the mystery of its cosmological backdrop, or so we suspect.
The ID movement has injected the design argument into the debate: secularists should welcome this without a trace of theological or anti-theological posturing.
The era of Dawkins and his atheist anti-design is over: we investigate design in nature without theistic or atheistic propaganda.
Science has lost almost a century to the propaganda of darwinism, a charge against its record that will stand for some time.
