Captive consciousness

Capitalism has seized control of the consciousness of the modern public and the result is almost disastrous: the creation of a strange kind of social robot, who doesn’t look like one at all, but betrays to more careful enquiry a mechanized consciousness. This has existed without capitalism, but the brand in place is a misfortune inflicted on the ‘free consciousness’ of man as man.
