Dialectical self-contraction

The onset of historical materialism was like a great experiment relevant to the nineteenth century attempts to bring science into all areas of knowledge.

But the means to do that were not really available and the whole question of science and modernity remained almost mysterious even as a brand of scientism attempted to claim a kind of tacit omniscience in the reductionist method.
Whatever the case, a socialist perspective needs a more universal philosophy: the classic collision of materialism and idealism ended up a choice between one half of reality versus the other half.
Here the data on the eonic effect, basically an historical method moves to transcend both of these opposites by taking the whole as one in a method that is beyond the opposites and that in a very simple fashion…
