These are robust and vigorous efforts, but someone on the left needs to caution that the situation needs more than just democracy: keep in mind that most of the villains here operate in democracies and these have failed, by and large. We need ‘real democracies’ and maybe a new terminology for that.
This argument is as old as socialism, as we can see from the history. If the capitalists have already captured ‘democracies’ it is hard to see how they can be liberated: elections of new people is of course the obvious answer. But if Bernie Sanders, even with a watered down version of socialism, has been sidelined twice (the second time is not yet sure of course, but likely) by the ‘Democrats’ beholden to capital, then it is not clear what the real strategy actually is.
